Some of the most peaceful and rich moments of my time in China were my walks back home from work with Christine. We talked, and I was struck by how Christine's genuine curiosity, her openness and listening, and her intellect made one so easy in her presence...These were the gifts of a great teacher, and the acts of grace that marked a special human being. I am so sorry that I will not be able to visit my dear friend to see her around beloved horses, and that she will not visit me to hear the music of New Orleans together.
