Christine was taken by pancreatic cancer which is one of the least survivable cancers. In a way death came as a relief to her as it was a relief of the months of the tremendous pain she experienced. Just 3% of people survive for 5 years following diagnosis. This rate has not changed much in the last 40 years in the UK. But it needs to.
